According to Urban Dictionary, a bucket list is a list of things to do before you die. It comes from the term “kicked the bucket”. Whether you’re 9 or 90, anyone can have a wish list. There really is no right or wrong way to do it, just YOUR way. The key is that you have a list of things you want to do and you are actually doing them and checking them off your list.

What you do is sit down and write a list of things you want to do before you die, like go skydiving, attend the Olympics, swim with dolphins, volunteer in a third world country, or write a book. As you build your list, you can have 25 items, 50 items, 100 items, or any amount you like. There is no time limit for writing, you can sit there for 10 minutes to 10 hours. Or you can always come back later and add things to your list.

The idea is to be as creative as you want and make a list of things that you have always dreamed of doing but have never done due to fear, lack of time/money or simply because you are too busy. Writing them down is your chance to dream and make a list of goals. Once you’ve written them down, you create an action plan for how you’re going to make these things happen, and then YOU GET STARTED!

Start with one thing at a time and be patient. You won’t complete your list in a day, and probably not even a year, but that’s the beauty of it. You have your whole life to work. As you finish each item, cross them off and soon you’ll see that you’ve accomplished a lot and you’ll also realize that your bucket is filling to the brim with experiences of doing things you’ve always wanted to do, and hopefully doing them with the people you love. .

In fact, recruit your family members and loved ones to help you on your journey. They will act as a great support system by being your biggest cheerleaders. Another great advantage of recruiting them is that many of them will want to join you as you complete different items, making the experiences even more exciting.

So get those creative juices flowing and allow yourself to dream.
