The beautiful winter season is here. It’s time to break out the woolen garments and enjoy the afternoon sun and cozy up with family and friends in front of the fire in the evenings. However, winters can wreak havoc on your skin if you don’t take proper care of it.

The good news is that you don’t have to live with a flaky face, frizzy hair, and dry skin. Here are seven simple and easy winter skincare tips:

1. Hydrate your skin with this face mask: Take some of your favorite cold cream, some yogurt, honey, aloe vera gel and avocado gel and mix them well. Use a foundation brush to apply this mascara all over your face, neck, and hands. Let it dry for about 15-20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water and instantly make your skin fresh and hydrated.

2. To get rid of winter tans: The winter sun can be hard on your skin. One of the most important winter skin care tips is to apply sunscreen every time you go outside. An easy way to get rid of skin tan is to use this body mask: Take some fenugreek seed powder and mix it with yogurt to make a thick paste. Apply all over your body and let it work its magic for about ½ hour. Wash off with lukewarm water to lighten tanned skin and make skin glow.

3. Keep your skin hydrated: Winters rob skin of essential moisture. To keep your skin hydrated at all times: Mix 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of grated ginger. Use it to exfoliate the skin with circular massage. Wash off with lukewarm water for glowing, hydrated skin.

4. Tone down frizzy hair: Here’s a simple winter tip to tone down frizzy hair: Take half a teaspoon of hand lotion and apply to your hair from roots to ends to get rid of all the frizz. Comb them to smooth them out.

5. Winter dry skin care: Mix one teaspoon of glycerin in two teaspoons of lemon juice and rose water. Apply to face, neck, rough elbows and knees and leave on overnight. This is a great and easy way to soften your skin and keep it hydrated.

6. To treat dry and chapped lips, apply cucumber juice on the lips and after about 20 minutes and then wash it off. Use your regular lip balm to lock in moisture.

7. Homemade Winter Spa: Take a cup of coconut oil and a teaspoon of sandalwood oil. Mix well; for in a jar to keep for use. Massage well into the body after bathing. This tones the skin and gives a very luxurious and revitalizing feel.

Following the simple skincare tips listed above will not only help keep your skin healthy, but also earn you lots of compliments for beautiful and glowing skin in winters.
