I regularly get calls from potential clients eager to visit the Maldives but worried that more than a week will distract them. As you probably know, the Maldives are relatively small, unspoiled and natural islands that offer guests the opportunity to experience a world largely untouched by commercialism, so many guests feel that after a few days of quiet and relaxation they are ready. to try something else. Enter the Multi Center Holiday! There are several airlines that fly to both the UK and one of the surrounding Maldives destinations, so combining both locations in one holiday saves money on flights and has the added benefit of making you feel like you’ve been on two holidays.

Maldives and Dubai: Emirates Airlines is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and is based quite conveniently in Dubai, halfway between the UK and the Maldives. All Emirates Airlines flights stop in Dubai on the way to and from the Maldives, giving us travelers the opportunity to stop over along the way and experience what it has to offer. Flights from the UK are from Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and both Gatwick and Heathrow to Dubai and take around 6 hours before connecting to the Maldives around 4 hours away.

Dubai offers a totally different experience than the Maldives and while you can’t beat the Maldives for beaches, it has a lot to offer and is well worth a quick stopover, especially when flying out of the airport. Dubai is a vibrant and elevated man-made city by the beach. It is packed with hotels of all standards, restaurants, bars and an unsurpassed level of customer service. The hotels have been compared to the glitz of Las Vegas as many are being themed to offer something different from the neighboring hotel and the competition. More importantly, Dubai is an eclectic mix of Western and Arab culture and customs.

Maldives and Sri Lanka – Although close to the Maldives, Sri Lanka is a world apart from these small unspoiled islands. Sri Lanka is the same size as Ireland and is full of wildlife and beautiful landscapes with a rich history.

You can choose to stay on one of Sri Lanka’s beaches and experience the change in culture, or combine the Maldives with a Sri Lanka Safari – the wildlife is great here, especially in Yala National Park, known for tigers, or perhaps embark on a classic tour of Sri Lanka. with car and driver taking in all the highlights of this largely unspoiled country. It is important that you check the website of the foreign office to stay up to date on the problems that have taken place in the far north of Sri Lanka, it is not an area that benefits from tourism but reading the website of the office of foreign affairs will be able to get the updated picture. Sri Lankan Airlines operates a direct 12-hour service between Heathrow and the Maldives several times a week and also a daily service between Heathrow and Colombo that takes approximately 9 hours and Colombo and the Maldives, another 2 hours making Sri Lanka and the Maldives a very attractive combination. It is also a very effective way to extend your holiday from 10 nights to 14 nights, as accommodation in Sri Lanka is half the cost of accommodation in the Maldives, allowing you to add a few more days for very little money.

Maldives and Kerela: long sandy beaches, picturesque spice and tea plantations. Extensive and fascinating backwaters describe the idyllic coastal state of Kerela. Kerela is famous throughout India for its therapeutic expertise in Ayurvedic treatments and most hotels have excellent spas.

Maldives and Bangkok, – Here is your chance to combine Thailand with Maldives. Bangkok represents the exoticism of the East, a lively mixture of the old and the new. Bangkok has retained its traditional charm amid nightclubs, bars, night markets and heavy traffic. An exotic city with glittering temples, culture and warmth.

Maldives and Singapore: Based in Colombo, midway between these two destinations, Sri Lankan Airlines offers excellent service from Heathrow to the Maldives and on to Singapore, giving you the opportunity to combine the Maldives with the garden city. A bustling mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures and cuisines. Singapore offers fabulous shopping, many tourist attractions, and a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.

A great tip when planning your trip is to look at a map of the Maldives location it is likely that neighboring countries will operate flights to and from so logistically it will be possible and if cost is important then select the locations that the plane has to stop is always a good bet.
