Have you seen the movie “Legally Blonde”? I would love to have Elle Woods as a friend. This is why:
1. She is a fantastic friend. She helped her friend get the man of her dreams and was happy for a friend getting married. Despite the fact that she had recently been dumped by “the love of her life” of hers.
2. She has Desire and Drive. It is possible that she was initially out of sorts when she decided to go to Harvard for her boyfriend, but she left him at the end of the movie. Because? She committed to something and learned along the way. She found out what a loser the “love of her life” had been from her and moved on, soon.
3. She has Discipline. She worked hard once she got into Harvard. She was a misplaced pink princess when she first arrived and no one took her seriously. She didn’t apologize. She has adapted to hard work while remaining true to herself. Watching her on the main staircase while she studies! That gives me a little kick in the butt.
4. Has integrity. When a girlfriend begged her not to tell the court her true alibi, the one that would clear her of murder charges, Elle found another way. When her fellow students and her teacher complained to her, she stood her ground. That’s the kind of friend I want to fight for me!
5. She is loyal. To old friends and new.
6. She always looks fantastic! And I know that if she saw me a little too “out of bed,” she’d tell me.
7th She says what she thinks. When a study group misbehaved with her in the library, she stood up for her. She said: “You know, if you had come to my sorority, I would have at least been nice to you.”
7b. She is nice. She was nice but firm in her delivery. This way of communicating is much more powerful than a fit of hysterics or a fight.
8. She is fun and creative. She made a video to send to the powers that be at Harvard extolling her virtues as to why she should go there. She took a risk, did something different and believed in it. She is always looking for a way to stand out. Maybe we shouldn’t scent our resumes like her, but it’s a good theory to put into practice, huh?
Yes, it’s a movie and there were a lot of people helping it with #6, but how much effort does it really take to spend time with you? I was at a restaurant last night and I couldn’t believe the people who seemed to have gotten out of bed. It takes a moment to find matching clothes and do your hair.
I hereby call Elle Woods “Luscious Pink Bitch” from Bitch Lifestyle.
