People with dry skin often express dissatisfaction with the skin they have. The advantages of dry skin are that your skin does not look sweaty, it is not prone to pimples and acne, and it is easy to clean. There are many dry skin problems.

Dry skin is subject to early wrinkles. The skin looks dull. Dry weather or extreme winter conditions make the skin look flaky. Any cream or moisturizer that is applied is absorbed by the skin. Makeup applications also present difficulties when it comes to dry skin, as the skin tends to absorb whatever is applied to it. The home remedies for glowing skin mentioned below will help your skin get that healthy glow:

For the whole body, you can try any of the following:

  1. For the whole body, it is better to use a body wash instead of a soap. Remember to apply oil or a moisturizer every other day.
  2. Mix one cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon/lime juice. While you shower, lather your body and face with a mild soap like Dove. Rub the entire body and face with the sugar mixture into the foam.
  3. Add a little milk to the cornmeal and rub it all over your body. This will not only hydrate your skin but also act as a body scrub.

The hands are the parts of the body that are used a lot. They are often subjected to heavy detergents, water, and the elements. They need extra care.

  1. Carry a moisturizer in a small bottle in your bag. Any time you feel your hands are dry just apply a little moisturizer. Try to carry that moisturizing cream that is not very greasy in your handbag.
  2. Apply a mixture of honey and lemon or white sugar and lemon to your hands once a week. This will help keep your hands soft and clean.

For the face, there are a number of remedies that can be used. Some of them are:

  1. Avoid using cleansers with a high soap content on your face. Try switching to a soap-free face wash or a cream-based face wash.
  2. Applying a paste of mashed banana, with two or three pinches of powdered milk or two or three drops of milk, for 15 minutes on your face will do wonders to restore the shine to your face.
  3. Crush a piece of papaya and apply the paste on the face. Wash off with cool water after 15 minutes for a healthy glow on your skin.

For your heels, which again are one of the most vulnerable to dryness, you can:

  1. Apply a layer of Vaseline gel to your feet quite liberally. Wear socks and allow the gel to soak into your heels overnight. You will love your heels in the morning.
  2. A mixture of rose water and glycerin can be applied to the heels and elbows to keep them soft.

Last but not least, don’t underestimate the effect that water can have on your skin; bathing, swimming, practicing a water sport, etc.
