Rust can be found everywhere, your favorite accessories, bikes, gears, furniture, steel utensils, walls, even on concrete walls and much more to mention, sometimes we lose valuable items due to rust stains, without the proper treatment or rust removers, rust buildup on your items can lead to serious problems causing loss of your items, others say rust is the hardest thing to remove but don’t lose hope here are some tips to remove the rust rust, just follow the instructions carefully and see for yourself.

Let’s start with the fabrics:

1. For cotton and linen

Thoroughly rubbing the stain with dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent can remove the rust, simply repeat the process and rinse with clean water, but if rust still remains, test for color fastness to fabric, then use a rust remover, follow instructions carefully for best results.

2. For modacrylic, nylon, olefin, polyester and acrylic fabrics

Applying lemon juice can remove the stain, after squeezing it on the stain leave it there for about 20 minutes but don’t let it dry out, wash it off if possible, rinse it afterwards with clean water, repeat if you are not satisfied with the results , but it is much better to use suitable products to remove rust.

3. For carpets, whether synthetic or wool

Lemon juice and salt can do the trick to remove stains from your carpets, first you have to clean your carpet this way you can remove the dust and some of its rust, now you can apply the lemon juice with salt, let it sit for 5 minutes until dry, remove the lemon juice by blotting with white towels, dishwashing detergent can also remove stains, rubbing it loosens the stains, if you are not satisfied with the results you can repeat the entire process or try products to remove rust.

And now the hard ones:

– For Bricks, Granites and Concrete

Make a poultice containing 1 part sodium citrate, 7 parts glycerin (no lime), 6 parts warm water and powdered calcium carbonate (chalk) and there you have your own deoxidizing paste, just apply this paste to the area stained and wait until it hardens, use a wooden scraper to remove the paste, repeat if necessary, wash the area well with clean water.

For fragile items:

– Porcelain Plates, Porcelain Accessories and Ceramic Tiles

Place your china or ceramic fixtures in a tub (sink), wipe down with a damp scouring pad along with the pumice bar then scrub away any stains, I almost forgot, don’t use the pumice bar on ceramic tumblers that are found on cookware, this will scratch the surface, use borax instead and lemon juice, rub it on the stain, wait until dry, then rinse with clean water (dry well with a cloth).

Remove rust from metals:

Stainless steels can still be affected by rust (even though it has the name stainless), rubbing with a fine sandpaper followed by a slice of onion (rub onions too, Silly), rinse with hot water and dry thoroughly with soft . towel.

Old-fashioned elbow grease can also remove rust stains, but if you don’t intend to use it and prefer manual rust removal, you can use a little help from sandpapers and other coarse products like steel wool, but this application may take a little time. while, and the worst thing is that you will have many attempts if the rust occupies a large part of the metal.

Another way is using baking soda, it’s a natural rust remover, mix baking soda with water to make a paste, just make sure you’ve made enough of a paste solution to bond the surface, apply it to the metal and let it sit, wait until Let the rust loosen, then scrub, if the rust is too deep apply other applications or use rust remover products, make sure you use the correct one.

Rust stains are quite difficult and almost impossible to remove, but after following some of my rust removal techniques, you will find that it is not impossible to remove rust, it just takes time and proper rust removal products.
