Wide receiver Terrell Owens, number 81 for the Dallas Cowboys, is probably considered one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. So, it might surprise you to learn that this NFL superstar doesn’t use free weights in his… Terrell Owens training program.
You look back a few years T0, as his friends call him; he suffered a season-killing hamstring injury. His trainer, Buddy Primm, recommended that he start using resistance bands to rehab his legs. Terrell loved them so much and got such incredible results that he gave up his free weights and dumbbells forever.
So it’s probably no surprise that you’d create your own home gym with Terrell Owens Bodylastics resistance bands. Yes, that’s right, another athlete who gets rich promoting his own products. Now, that’s how I would normally feel, but after I bought Terrell Owens’ Bodylastics bands, I started to see why T0 created them together with Bodylastics owner…Blake Kassel.
Now these resistance bands are all that is used in the Terrell Owens training program. So let me give you a quick review of the Terrell Owens Bodylastics Resistance Band.
T0 bands have a couple of unique advantages over most of the common elastic bands on the market today. For one thing, unlike most exercise bands, you can fit multiple bands to each handle. Up to seven bands can be attached to each handle. And the resistance levels range from 5 pounds to 245 pounds. Making these exercise bands probably the only heavy duty resistance tubes on the market today.
Terrell Owens’ training program is set up similar to a regular bodybuilding program. You set your training schedule to train three days a week or four days a week.
Here is a sample of the Terrel Owens training program schedule
Monday: chest and biceps
Tuesday: back and triceps
Wednesday: free
Thursday: shoulders and abs
Friday: legs, calves and hamstrings
Typically, you want to perform 3-4 exercises per body part. The training program he currently uses emphasizes power and strength over muscle size. The difference between these two programs is the number of reps and sets he performs.
For strength and power perform four sets of 6 to 8 repetitions of each exercise. For muscle growth or bodybuilding, perform four sets in the 10-15 rep range.
By following Terrell Owens’ simple training program, you’ll quickly reach your fitness goals. Whether you decide to use resistance bands like him or use free weights, the choice is yours.
