You can do it

Trust us, potty training isn’t really very difficult or stressful when you do it correctly. There have been cases where even new and single mothers, even without having a father to help around the house, have been able to potty train their toddler in a week or even less. You can do it too. Stay with us and we’ll show you how.

Potty training in small sessions

Many books have been written suggesting that you should start potty training in regular sessions. This training method suggests that you would like to train the child several times in the morning and in the evening at home. Allow them to go about their regular eating, drinking and playing activities as usual, but ask them to sit on the pot every fifteen minutes. When the session is over, simply put the diaper or briefs back on and continue with your normal activities for the day. If you take them off, do a session as soon as you get home. On the third day, go out and do an all-day session. When leaving the house, just make sure you have a urinal in your car or only go to places that are sure to have restrooms for general public use.

Try some naked time

Allow your child to do all activities in the nude, or just put on a T-shirt. Since they are not wearing underwear or diapers, they will not find a place to put their poop or pee; they need to put it somewhere, and it would be a good idea to do it in the toilet. When they’re done using the potty, be sure to take a look around to make sure everything’s okay. Let them know that flushing is a big problem by pointing them toward the swirling water and asking them to recognize the pleasant hissing sound.

Give them rewards for doing well

Some good rewards for the well-used potty can be head or hand stamps, stickers, bubbles, and even a single piece of M&Ms. You can even go the extra mile and take your toddler to a dollar store where they can choose the special reward for a job well done by spending a full day in their dry underwear or staying completely dry all night. Special food prizes which can be a pizza party for meals or nice sundaes or sundae bars for between meals (you can put some gummy bears, sprinkles and cherries in different bowls and have your toddler create the sundae on their own account) are all Great Ideas. However, if you want something that doesn’t cost as much, then you can find any art project that you can do with them as well and they can show it off to others as their prize for using the potty.
