Driving to your local video game store has become a thing of the past. I’m sure most of you already know that online DVD rentals have become more and more popular in recent years. You will now see that most of your game rentals are done online.

Why is online rental going to be more and more popular? Comfort friend. What would you say if I told you that you never had to leave home again to rent the latest title for your X Box or X Box 360? I’m sure you would be very excited, I was. What’s even better is that I was paying less to rent games online than in the store. I was never charged late fees and I didn’t have to pay that extremely high price for gas to get to the store.

How can you possibly be thinking? Basically, you sign up for the service, upload your favorites list, and wait for the games to arrive in the mail. There is a downside here. With their basic plan, you can only have 2 games at a time. Fine and what? I can hardly ever play 2 games at once like this. What I do is play one until I’m done, put it back in the prepaid envelopes they send me, and then when I’m done with the second game, the other one comes in and the process starts all over again.

All major consoles are covered and the number of titles they stock is sometimes better than your local store. Renting games has become so simple. If I don’t know exactly what I want, then I don’t have to decide right then. I keep adding to my list and they keep sending me games. The best part is that there are no late fees. Sometimes I had games that I liked to play more than the 5 or 7 days that I was assigned.

They offer a free trial of their service to boot. Sometimes it is 10 and regularly 7. There is no risk or obligation to try the GameFly service.
