MEN:

o MAN is short for metropolitan area network.

o It is larger than the LAN network system and connects computer users in a particular geographical area.

o The main example of a MAN network is Cable TV.

o In addition, a large university may have such a large network that it can be classified as MAN. And the MAN network system generally exists to provide connectivity to large corporations.

o The data transmission speed of MAN is 5-10Mbps and it is slower than WAN and has higher speed than LAN.

oh Distributed Queue Dual Bus [DQDB] topology is used in the MAN network.

o The MAN network system is larger than a LAN and smaller than a WAN.

o MAN connection sharing range is up to 50km.
